Week 2

We had a great first week fill of fun getting to know each other.
We are sure your children have come home every tired and hopefully not too overwhelmed.

So what is happening this coming week:
  • Wednesday is Waitangi Day - so no school.
  • Swimming everyday, so please bring your togs.
  • We will be starting some testing around Maths and Literacy so that we can make sure we are providing the best for each individuals child's learning.
  • Assembly will be in week 3, and as stated in the newsletter will be in the afternoon.
  • Please make sure your child has a sun hat and sun screen each day.
  • We ask that stationery boxes stay at school, as last year children took them home and often forgot to bring them back for learning the next day. If there are books that need to go home we will send them.

We have started to develop our Team Treaty this week and we are looking at this through the lens of our new school Values.

We are beginning to develop our Team Treaty. Here are some photos of the students working on their sheets, showing us 'What makes me happy and feel like they belong'.

Hope you all have a fantastic week, and we look forward to seeing you on Monday.

What will the first couple of weeks look like:

The first two weeks will be focused on developing our team treaty and unpacking our new school values 'Positive Relationships', 'Experts at Discovery', 'Agents of Change' & 'Boldly Me'. This will be a focus throughout the Kura (School). In amongst this, we will be focusing on settling into the daily routines and looking at our first CHILL Tic-Tac-Toe. There will be no reading books sent home during this time, however we will be making some trips to the library as part of our routine.

Please email or come and see us if you have any questions, or are concerned about anything. We want you to be part of our team just as much as your children.
