Week 6

Wow not sure how that happened!

What's happening this week:
  • Queen's Birthday Monday
  • Assembly Friday - our team is presenting
  • Famine Day for those year 5-8 students taking part
  • PTA - Musical Bingo Friday night 7pm, MPF order your tickets
  • Each morning after fitness we have a fruit/vegetable snack as we head into maths, so if your child can bring something to eat at this time that would be great
Eggs: Just a reminder that we have a child in our school who is highly allergic to eggs, so we ask that no egg products are in our child's lunch. Eggs in baking is ok.

We have a boy or boys who keep wetting the floor of the toilet each day with urine. We have talked about this with the boys, but the issue is not going away. We are having to clean the floor throughout the day as it is not hygienic for others to use. Please can you have a chat with your child and just remind them about how they go to the toilet. We are trying from our end, but with no luck :0(

Here are some photos from Cross Country and our Inquiry around Pests in New Zealand and how we can use this knowledge to help Silverstream to become Predator free:

Hope you all have a great long weekend and hope the weather plays it part.

Ngā mui nui Paula, Molly, Linda and Hayley.

Week 3

Kia ora all and welcome to week three!

What's happening this week:

  • We are training each day for Cross Country so please make sure your child has proper running shoes each day.
  • If you have not returned your permission slip for Cross Country please do this by Monday.
  • If your child came home with a choir notice please can you make sure this is returned so Mrs Caddie can plan for the up coming events.
  • Wacky Hair day Wednesday - no charge for this, just an opportunity to do a 'random act of kindness' to someone in the school.
  • Molly is away on an Enviro course on Wednesday.
  • Fish n Chips Thursday order online.
  • Year 8 Pizza fundraiser on Friday.
Paula went on a course on Thursday called 'Pause, Breathe, Smile' through the Mindfulness Education Group. This was an amazing course and it fits in well with our believes and values at Clarkville and especially in our team, so we are going to start this eight week programme in our team next week. More information will come out next week to tell you what this will look like.

Have a fantastic weekend and hope all you mum's get a restful day on Sunday.

Ngā mihi nui Paula, Molly, Linda and Hayley.

Week 2

Kia ora whānau,

We've had a busy first week back with science,  measurement and delving deeper with our inquiry. Our value focus this term is 'Agent of Change' and the children are showing great response to using this value throughout the school.

What you need to know:

Rubrics - these have been posted on Seesaw and they will be used throughout the term to show student success and next steps.

Cross Country - Notices have gone home and are due back Monday week. Please contact Paula if you are available to help with marshalling.

Guitar Cases - we have had an increase in children doing Guitar lessons this term and everyone has black cases! Please ensure your child has their name clearly written on it, a bit of material works well as an extra identifier.

Assembly next Friday afternoon at 1:40pm.

Here are some photos of our week:
